The most popular over-the-counter retinoid is retinol, so what's a retinal? Both (among others) are under the family of retinoids, but retinal is more potent than retinol, yielding faster and more visible results. Every retinoid requires a number of conversions to be accepted in the active form of retinoic acid. Retinol requires two, while retinal requires only one, hence the higher potency.

Stabilized Delivery System

A stronger retinoid also means a possibility of increased irritation. Dr. Different's Vitalift is stabilized with niosome technology, a delivery system in which retinals are encapsulated in niosomes to improve penetration while minimizing irritation on the skin.

You can use this as a retinal eye cream too! Just make sure to apply a layer of moisturizer (or your usual hydrating eye cream such as the iUNIK Propolis Eye Cream) then apply a thin and light layer of the Vitalift on top.

1. If you have sensitive skin, apply after moisturizer or mix it with a cream
2. Apply in place of your moisturizer for normal skin
3. Lightly spread a thin layer from a pea sized amount on the entire face
4. Only apply in the evenings and make sure to wear sunscreen in the mornings
5. Do not use this together with any exfoliants
   
   IMPT - skin may turn red or flaky when you begin, this is normal and will reduce as your skin adjusts. You may start by using it 3x a week and then increase to every evening once the skin adjusts.
