What's our criteria?

For us, clean skincare isn’t all-natural skincare. Products require well-researched synthetic actives like Vitamin C, Hyaluronic Acid, Niacinamide, and most importantly SPF, to be effective. There is, however, a long list of synthetic ingredients used in skincare that can cause harm. With that in mind, we make sure the following ingredients aren’t found in our platform:

The Process

#1 Find the Brand

Surprisingly, good skincare is hard to find. The most popular ones aren’t well-formulated and are often overpriced. We go to conventions around the world and research online for hidden gems.

#2 Formulation Evaluation

• Are the formulations effective or are they mainly fillers (ex. PEG Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Glycols) and lack extracts and actives?

• Are the extracts on the top of the ingredients list (which indicate they have a high concentration)?

• Does the formula match the claims of the product?

#3 Price Matching

Is the price worth the formulation and the size of the product? Is it overpriced?

#4 Packaging

Is it packaged responsibly and sustainably? Is it safe for the type of product (ex. Vitamin C cannot be exposed to light / oxygen, so a pump is a good choice)? Is it aesthetically pleasing?

#5 Testing

Our team will test the products over a period of time. We’ll check it across different skin concerns and types to see if it does what it claims to do.
