Let's Find Your Stress Triggers
WHAT IS STRESS? Stress can be any change, negative or positive, and is normal and necessary in our lives. However, it is the overload of stress that is damaging to your overall health. TRIGGERS ENVIRONMENTAL Lights Noise Unnerving environment PHYSICAL Diet Night shift work Habits Lack of exercise EMOTIONAL Loneliness Fear of failure Heartbreak Grief TRAUMATIC These are major experiences that are marked by a sense of horror or helplessness, or events that put either a person or someone close to them at risk of serious harm. STRESS AND ACNE CYCLES There are two ways stress can cause breakouts: The delayed cycle in which breakouts appear 14 days to 1 month after the onset of stress. The immediate cycle in which breakouts appear immediately following a moment of stress (ex.a big event, a competition, a test etc). DELAYED CYCLE Stress signals the adrenal glands to produce excess hormones which aggravates breakouts. IMMEDIATE CYCLE When stress weakens our resistance the follicular walls on clogged pores rupture, causing inflamed breakouts.
