STRESS AND ACNE CYCLES

There are two ways stress can cause breakouts:

    1. The delayed cycle in which breakouts appear 14 days to 1 month after the onset of stress.
    2. The immediate cycle in which breakouts appear immediately following a moment of stress (ex.a big event, a competition, a test etc).

DELAYED CYCLE

Stress signals the adrenal glands to produce excess hormones which aggravates breakouts.


IMMEDIATE CYCLE

When stress weakens our resistance the follicular walls on clogged pores rupture,  causing inflamed breakouts.
